SUBMIT

The Virginia Normal publishes one print issue annually.

We are currently closed for submissions.

 

Guidelines:

Email all submissions to thevirginianormal@gmail.com as a single .doc or .docx attachment. The file name should contain your full name (amyblackfiction.docx).

Indicate the genre of work in the email subject line (e.g. Poetry Submission). The body of your email should include contact information and a brief biographical statement.

Poems: send up to six. No page limit, within reason.

Short fiction/nonfiction: any number of pieces, totaling no more than ten pages.

We do not read previously published material. We do, however, welcome simultaneous submissions, as long as you promptly withdraw your work upon acceptance elsewhere.

No multiple submissions, please.

All rights revert to the author upon original publication in The Virginia Normal.
